I regularly post my pictures on Flickr. Most of the time they get a handful of faves and a couple of comments. But sometimes they attract more than the average amount of views and faves. I find it hard to predict what makes a picture popular. Part is due to the exposure it gets when it gets invited into the Explore group (or other invite only groups). Which guarantees a lot of views and therefore also much more faves. Sometimes people seem to like something I cannot explain. Don't get me wrong, I post the pictures I like myself. But the pictures I like most aren't always the same as the ones liked most by the Flickr community.
Here are the top 10 photos on my Flickr stream according to Flickr stats, sorted on number of faves with their original title and the number of views and comments.

If someone would ask me what my top three favourite lenses are, this lens would definitely be in it. If they would ask me what my favourite M42 lens is, this one would be the one for sure. The lens I'm talking about is the Super Takumar 50mm f1.4. This lens is incredible and in this blog I will tell and show you why this lens should definitely be in your collection.
Hereunder you'll find a video I made were in I give a retrospective of my photography in 2017. At the end of the video I'll show you my 10 favourite pictures of that year with a short background story. I was a bit hesitant publishing this video. It is my first video (of that kind) and it felt somewhat slow, technically not 100% right, didn't feel comfortable in front of the camera and it was also very personal. After showing it to my (Micro Four Nerds) friends Christian and Emily, I decided to make the video public. I hope you like it. On this page I also published my 10 favourite pictures of 2017, for those who want to skip the video and just want to take a look at these pictures. Diptic is a tool I use sparingly. When I look around on the interwebs it doesn't seem to be as popular as it once was. Diptic, a nifty little app that does only one thing, and that is making collages of pictures. Now there are many more apps that do the same and sometimes even more and better. But Diptic was one of the first and it's still my preferred tool for this job, because of its simplicity and style. With this blog I'll show you some of my favourite Diptic collages and the story behind them.
On Facebook there exists an incredibly fun and active community called the Micro Four Nerds Facebook Community. Which is a spin off from Emily Lowrey's similarly named and equally fun and informative Youtube channel. This FB community recently started the Meike lens project. The idea in short is to share a lens among the members of its group, who try to shoot the best pictures they can with the lens for no more than a week and finally share their pictures and findings about the lens within the group and pass the lens onto the next candidate. The first lens that was up for testing was the Meike 12mm f2.8 and the honour was all mine to start off the project.
