A Week in bonaire

The warm weather the past few days, makes me think of our vacation last year. October 2022 Steffie and I went on an epic trip to Bonaire, where we had the time of our life. Our stay couldn't have been any better. A beautiful room in an excellent hotel with a sea view to die for, great weather and a small pier we could dive off and swim between the coral and fishes, almost all to our selves. In this blog a few pictures to give you an impression of this smal gem of an island.

The sea was emerald blue, warm and full of corals and all kinds of fish.

We loved the colourful houses and the friendly laid back locals.

There were lots of beautiful birds.

The terrain on the Island was quite varied. From beaches and a lush blue sea to an almost desert like terrain with lots of cacti and we even found the withered remains of a dead donkey.

Speaking about Donkeys, there was a huge donkey sanctuary with hundreds of donkeys, which were well taken care of.

The food was good on Bonaire. Lots of fresh fish (the tuna was incredible), but also lots of delicious fried snacks.

We also ate with the locals. Just some fries, as we thought that would be safest. But that didn't went too well. Probably used old oil. Luckily we felt a lot better after an hour or so.

We had a huge truck, which was convenient, given the state of the roads.

But some of the locals drove other types of cars ;)

I can go on and on about the incredible experiences we've had and the beautiful memories captured by my camera, and I already have done so in this blog. But in short. We're homesick, we mis the island and we wanna go back!
