Last Saturday I was one of two photographers documenting the yearly Sinterklaas activities at our head office. In this blog I will share some behind the scenes photos, so you'll get an idea of the preparations for this feast. Click on "read more" to continue. I think the most fun of photographing these Sinterklaas festivities is documenting the preparations. As this is also a part where the people involved make a lot of fun and you'll get to see things most people won't. So very interesting as well. After about an hour of preparations, Sinterklaas (Saint Nicolas) and the Petes are ready to meet the kids... ... well almost. Sinterklaas also needs his horse :-) Which arrives shortly. The horse is called Rosa and she is doing this for over 10 years. She must be one of the calmest and sweetest horses around... ... and one of the few horses in the world that enters an office building (on a regular basis). And the party starts. Lots of exited kids and picture taking parents. After the kids sang and some were chosen to come to Sinterklaas and (if they were brave enough) shook his hand, the Petes gave the kids candy (pepernoten) and presents were handed out. After the kids left, the Petes were thirsty after all the hard work, entertaining so many kids. Props were brought back were they came from, with the help of the janitor. And after that a well deserved lunch for Sinterklaas, Petes and organization (including me) After lunch I went home, while Sint and Petes went to the next location. Maybe again next year...
